Apostles’ Creed series – Week 12: August 10, 2025
“I believe in the Resurection of the body and life everlasting”
1. Looking Ahead
Meryl’s “keep your fork” story reminds us that the best is yet to come.
What’s one area of your life right now where you need to hold onto that truth? How could seeing your present through the lens of resurrection hope change the way you walk through it?
2. Resurrection vs. Resuscitation
Paul says our future bodies will be imperishable, glorious, powerful, and spiritual (1 Cor. 15:42–44).
How does knowing you will be resurrected — not just patched up — reshape your view of aging, suffering, or loss in this life?
3. The Check Engine Light
Keith talked about anxiety, restlessness, fear, control, and anger as “check engine lights” for misplaced hope.
Where might these lights be flashing in your life right now? What misplaced hopes might be hiding under the hood?
4. Eternity and Relationships
C.S. Lewis reminds us there are no “ordinary people” — everyone you meet is an eternal being.
How might remembering the eternality of others change the way you treat friends, coworkers, family, or even strangers?
5. Courage for the Sake of Others
If eternity is real for everyone, Christian courage means caring for those who don’t yet know Jesus.
What would it look like for you to take one small, intentional step toward sharing Christ’s love with someone in your life this week?
6. Listening Prayer (Guided Practice)
Spend a few minutes in silence, inviting the Holy Spirit to speak. You might pray:
“Lord, show me where I’ve placed my hope in something other than You. Show me one way You want me to live more in light of eternity.”
After the silence, share (if comfortable) what came to mind — whether it was a word, a Scripture, a picture, or simply a sense of God’s presence.
